The King’s Gate Church

Carole (on her debut study with us!) shares thoughtfully and thought-provokingly on Acts 9:26-35, in which we learn about a surprising pivotal event, and also unpick some of Saul's movements.  A stimulating, funny and unusually wide-ranging discussion followed.

Guest speaker Penelope Lee talks about Israel and the promises of God and how they are currently being fulfilled and about the Coastland which is mentioned in the old testament in Isaiah 42 10, 12 and Jeremiah 31 v10.

John handles Saul's recovery after being blinded on the Damascus road, explores how his conversion sets the tone for his calling, and considers Ananias' role too.  There is much to encourage each believer in this passage (Acts 9:13-25).

Jackie looks at Prov 18.21 and James 3:2-12 that tells us the power of life and death is in the tongue, and how the enemy uses our words against us, giving practical examples, including a prayer you can join in at the end to help get free of curses and unintended damage.  It had quite an impact on the congregation.

How do we move towards our goal as a church?  With detours concerning parkrun and Wikipedia, Rev Ben Leney focuses on the fivefold ministry described in Eph 4:11-16 and getting practical how God calls each of us to take small steps.  A side study on 'steps' in the Bible is referred to as well.

Rev Ben Leney continues his talk from based in Nehemiah 4 v 16 and is titled Rally! - A Fighting Spirit Pt 2.

Jon Adair leads the open ministry after the Communion at church.

Grace Turpin speaks on Genesis 24 and the Rebekah who is the Bride for Isaac as we are the Bride for Christ Jesus.

Re Ben Leney. Saul's Conversion. Acts 9:1-12. We look at possibly the most important event in Acts.  How many Ananiases are there? And how do we handle the contradictions with the later accounts? Discussion included.

Dee Tickner bring us her first talk on In Pursuit of Intimacy starting in Genesis 3 v 8-9 and heading to 1 John 3 v 1-2.
